FAQ to Renne: Do you look like your avatar?

Question: Do you look like Zinnia Zauber, your avatar in Second Life?

Answer: Yes. I have done my best to be authentic in the virtual world Second Life. Zinnia might be more cartoonish and less thick than me, but for the most part she and I are the same in appearance. I make my own clothes and skins for my avatar. And, just made a set of eyes for Zinnia from photographs of my own eye I took under my microscope camera. I gotta be me!

Guest on the 1st Question in Second Life!

Wow! I was a contestant on the Second Life game show, The 1st Question! Our hosts Pooky Amsterdam and Xanshin Paz, stepping in for Hydra Shaftoe, were fun and funny while making us feel welcome and very smart. Petlove Petshop helped my fellow contestants, Colossus Linden, Keystone Bouchard, and Judi Newall, get set up and comfy for the show. It was my first time center stage on Live SL TV and I learned a lot in the process, as well as, all the exciting questions had amazing answers. The audience and my peeps were there to share their smarts and wit. I really enjoyed myself and thankful that I was asked to be on the show! What a bunch of pros that are educating and entertaining as we all feel like we can be part of what makes Second Life so affective! Wow!

Second Life Community Convention

I attended the Second Life Community Convention in San Francisco where I taught a workshop on branding (with a quick lesson in Photoshop) and was part of a panel on social networking. It was great to meet all these folks that I have been working with in Second Life and they were surprised to find out how much I look like my avatar Zinnia Zauber. I really enjoyed sharing and learning!
